I fed a marmot one time because it was skinny. A year later there were 13 in a branch pile we had and these suckers are diggers. Cute but varmints of the highest order, did I say they were cute and funny as hell. Cost me about 400 bucks to have them dealt with. I miss the little shits but such is life.

toss a rock at you when you hiked by. There is a famous one up at MT Raineer in Wash state. One can sit right next to him for a price. Food of course. We were up there about 5 years ago so I have no idea if he/she is still around though.

She said they had the house surrounded. They sure have a really good nlcommunication " message board" to get out the news of where they can get food. It's too bad the balance of nature has been thrown off so badly that there isn't enough for them to eat in their habitate which I'm sure has been infringed on too.
