Enjoying a Churchill Downs Cooler tonight.

Half a year out from the Kentucky Derby.

Bourbon, brandy, triple sec over ice in a highball glass. Yummy!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend. I lift my glass to my old friend ailsagirl, whom I haven’t heard from in a while. Hope all is well.

Are you in the winter transition where you are yet?

We're winding down to our first hard freeze Thursday night.

The way the Pacific Northwest should be.

Got a job interview on Monday!

Haven't been out there for a while.

Are you looking at working back at the clinic you were at before or something different?

I was last-hired, first-fired.

The good news is, they’re paying me through the end of December. So I’ve been taking some much-needed paid time-off.

I’m still gobsmacked at how much better an employee is treated when they have a college degree as opposed to without.

Before I went to PA School, if I got fired or laid off, it was “Get lost! Good luck!” Now it’s “We’re terribly, terribly sorry. Here! Here’s three months’ pay, and your benefits will be in effect for the full three months! We’re so sorry to lose you!”

I meant the clinic you were at prior to the place that laid you off. Anyway, I hope you take your time finding another job, you deserve your personal time. You don't notice it until you aren't required anymore but a life of regular "on call" duty can take a lot out of you.

But the workload was killing me. I don’t think I could face that again. The recruiter for the job I’ll be interviewing for was shocked when I told her what my typical daily schedule at my old employer was like. That’s a good sign.

I hope you find something useful but laid back so you can have a lighter workload... when you're ready for it.
