I had a tense standoff with a mouse in my bathroom this morning.

After about 30 seconds of neither one of us moving, I reached over and flicked on the light switch.

Turned out, it was a small container of my husband's hair pomade.

It was on its side, so it "scurried" away when I had moved the door.
