The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsRelationships take work especially communication. So I asked my significant other Dunc a? Just now.
Sitting on back porch drinking coffee furry boy is off to my right like two feet away digging and dirt is flying hitting me . I asked Dunc what would make you think i like dirt in my coffee , no reply as he was busy.
Woke up this morning and Dunc was laying into me I had my paw over him and our father and son pillowcase was drenched in Dunc drool F.Y.I furry boy has his own pillow. Yet linens went into the wash this morning,or as my one Appalachian grandma used to say worsh.
Thursdays were worsh day back home growing up and you didnt burn your trash in burning barrel on worsh day because you hung out the clothes to dry.

(6,275 posts)Girl dog gets on the bed at night and sometimes, for some reason licks the bed cover non stop and creates a wet patch that soaks through.
Then I wake to feel a cold wet patch.
Big panic! Did I or the dog wet the bed during the night?
I have a sniff, nope, just dog drool.
I ask her, but she turns on her 'don't know, don't care, I'm innocent of whatever!' face.
Laundry time, and no smelly detergent or rinse conditioner this time!

Give Dunc a good belly rub from his friends at DU and tell him we like the stories about him best of all.

(737 posts)I like my dryer, but nothing beat the smell of sheets hung outside. My grandmother used to grow lavender and make sachets for the linen closet. Her sheets always smelled good! Please give some loves to your sweet boy, I love all your stories about him!

(32 posts)I grew up in Western PA and never knew I spoke funny until I moved away. Worsh fer sher. Also, yins gwan dahntahn? And the verb to be was MIA, as in The car needs worshed. Also Red up your room.
My dryer is a great convenience, but the clean and fresh smell of linens dried in the open breeze was always a treat when we stayed at my grandmothers house.
