(11,251 posts)For those of you who don't watch genre TV - "The Boys" is a parody of superheroes. It was originally a comic book series. The premise is that superheroes are real, and are marketed heavily by the corporation that created them, Vought Industries. Vought is kind of like Marvel/Disney, only much more insidious. Their flagship hero is Homelander, who is kind of like Superman, only a narcissistic sociopath. While the original preceded TCF by several years, the showrunner has stated several times that Homelander is modeled after TCF. The person behind the show is Eric Kripke, who developed "Supernatural." He was one of the folks on the Geeks and Nerds for Harris call.
MAGAts love Homelander, and don't get that he's a parody of TCF.
