(43,201 posts)Five days in CICU. Pacemaker/Defib. That was almost ten years ago.
I'm doing fine now. No further events.
Try and relax the best you can. Get your mind off your current situation.
Every day is normal for me as long as I take my meds and watch what I eat.
You're in good hands. Modern medicine and technology is amazing.
You'll be back to your old self in no time.

Wishing you the best outcome.

(548 posts)A few years ago, I was about to go off to the gym. DH said he was having some pain, but he was sure it was just indigestion. I stopped and asked him to check his blood glucose and blood pressure. He hadn't checked either in years. and the monitors weren't exactly findable and he was getting worse fast. I insisted he get in the car, as we needed to go the emergency clinic. He resisted, but by the time we got him in the car, he was feeling really worse and started asking how soon we could get there., We live about 8 blocks away, by which time he was in a lot of pain.
I belted into reception and described his symptoms, which were getting worse all the time. They rushed him into treatment (turns out our local has a pilot program - who knew?), and, LSS, he now has a stent. He later told me he'd been feeling "pressure for a few days".
If he hadn't died, I coulda killed him. Seriously, if I'd gone to work out, I'd come back to find him dead.
DON'T mess with this shit!!! I know you didn't, but talk to people about how you feel. It could save your life.

(48,603 posts)Still in the ICU, but chest pain is gone.
Some bad stuff happened and Ill get to that in a later post
But Im feeling good and should be out of the ICU tomorrow.
I kept your earlier thread and checked this morning and just now. Glad to hear you're doing better. If you got stents make sure you consume enough Vitamin C and be patient before you push too hard.
