6. Michigan. Of course some Halloweens were mild. We get all weather. Sometimes all in one day.

8. Absolutely. Rain, sleet, snow, were not uncommon for Halloween in NE Ohio.

Today they’re calling for a high of 77! That is unimaginable.

10. Almost so long ago I can barely remember

I remember some rainy Halloweens and some with sleety-snow.

I took my nephews one year and it was a constant light rain.

Finally took my kids one year (in central Iowa) and we must have gotten the tail of a blizzard in Minnesota. Rained so hard we only made it across the street where we stood on the porch for an hour waiting for a break in the rain so we could go back across the street.

11. Snowed... as a very little girl long ago in Missouri... We were already so bundled up no one could see our costumes...

I still remember being really devastated that my 5-year-old "Casper the Friendly Ghost" could not be seen.

12. Oh yes, in SE Wisconsin I remember needing the winter coat under my costume several

times. Of course, back in the 1960s we did Trick or Treat the evening of Halloween. Now most cities do it during daylight hours. It was much spookier and fun at night

13. When I was a kid, I often had to wear an overcoat over my costume.

It was a bummer not bring able to show it. Today’s weather is almost 80 and we haven’t had any precipitation for almost a month now.

In the early 60s, near Boston. My mom made me a fantastic mermaid tail out of green crepe paper. I was up the street collecting goodies when it started to rain. The dye in the paper ran and turned my legs green. 😅

We almost always had to wear jackets over our costumes, which sucked, unless we had costumes that could be worn over jackets.

31. Upstate NY in the 1950's where I grew up, it was a lot colder than it is now.

I saw rain and snow, and once it was so cold that I had to wear a winter coat over my costume.
But, usually I just put long johns under my costume.
Today, in Chester, NY, it may hit 80 degrees. Incredible!
Mother Nature's idea of Trick or Treat I guess.

I do recall snow on the ground for some years but I don’t remember actually walking around in rain or snowfall. It was a long time ago so I may have forgotten.

38. I once went as a clown. I wore polkadot pajamas of my mom.

It was cold that October in Ottawa. No snow though. Some kind man giving out candy offered to give me a coat. I didn't need it because my mom didn't allow sweets in our house and I had a sweet tooth so I was thrilled to be out trick or treating: stuffing my face as I rang doorbells somehow kept me warm. I was oblivious to the cold.

Just like it was 5 miles uphill, through knee deep snow, to school .. both ways.

Actually - I'm sure it did happen ... I can remember a particularly rough patch when I was in in my mid-30s .. Candy got all wet and everything ... Almost made me give up there for a while ... - -.

43. I don't remember that so much as taking my kids out

in that kind of weather. It was miserable. One cold, rainy Halloween, my youngest spilled her bag of goodies under my van. I had to pick up all that candy. Of course, she was crying.

47. Rain? Yes, :( I had to wear a raincoat once or twice as a kid.

When my daughters were little, we lived about 40 miles South of Buffalo. Snow season started in mid-October and continued till early May.

I remember around 30 years ago being on the phone with a headhunter in New Orleans while living in Western New York. It was about a week before Halloween and she was asking if we were seeing pretty colored Autumn leaves. I said that the leaves are all dark brown slush under the light snow from the day before. She said she would never be visiting Western New York.

I don't remember for sure.
I do remember that in '21, it was 30°, windy & sleeting.
We had 2 little girls from a couple doors down show up.
It was terrible out there.
Someone organized a drive to get folks to take their candy to the schools & let the kids have a dress up day at school & get candy room to room.
I took about 10 bags of candy to the middle school (closest to my house).

57. In the south, we never had to worry about snow in October.

Or, it being cold. One of the things that I remember the most was the fact that it was always hot as hell. Those old costumes were made of unbreathing plastic, and we would sweat like anything. The smart kids were the ones who dressed as Tarzan/Jane, The Flintstones, or as First Nations people. The rest of us just dripped. We did not care though. We were getting candy!

I live in the foothills of southwest NM and October is typically pretty dry. We get most of our non-summer precipitation in December-March.
