As much as I follow the news you'd think I'd have known

So I had a regular checkup at the Dr Wednesday. I leave headed to work. There’s a McDonald’s very near there. Man, I haven’t had an Egg McMuffin in a while. Wow there’s almost no line at the drive thru. This place always has a line - all day long.

So I get to work and heat it up. YUM!

I get home and go upstairs to change clothes. My wife is downstairs watching CNN. Dr. Gupta was talking about the E. coli outbreak at McD’s. When I get downstairs my wife asks “You haven’t eaten at McDonalds recently have you?”

I froze. It all came back to my brain. I laughed and told her about how there’d been no line that morning. “Gee, wonder why” she said and we both cracked up.

I used to buy those great bagged salads at the grocery. You know, Santa Fe spicy salad, chicken caesar salad... all so convenient! Then I got an email saying there was a recall because of salmonella, and It listed all the salads I'd bought.
Fortunately, it had been a week, so I figured I was okay.

Back to making my own salads now..

Something hit me hard that afternoon. I’d told my wife about it. I’m a noted hypochondriac. She laughed. “Your brain must’ve registered this proactively and made you feel sick”.
