Several just flew right by my window. They usually stay a little while then leave at this time of the year. Here more in the Spring and Summer.
Oddly I still feel something other than the greatness of this huge bird. Pride maybe or most likely happy they come here and stay on my farm for a little while.
It must not be pride, I did not feel that at all today.

(2,080 posts)They have nests all over in Sauk City to the west of us but we still get a few...
Some had nests closer to our old house which is about 1500 ft. to the southwest of where we are now so they came in our yard more often back then. They had nests at BB Clarke beach which is a little ways (abt 2 and a half blocks) to the west of where we used to live...
Now we are lower and it is cooler down here and we have lots of rabbits and raccoons and opossum and song birds (mostly cardinals). Occasionally we get partridges and sometimes an owl or a hawk...
Every once in awhile we get sea gulls and then the song birds get very upset and a war starts and the crows come and chase the seagulls away (after zooming and diving and swooping around making lots of racket) then after that the crows go back to Willy st.
I have a 53 acre farm with a large pond in the front. I had the house built across the pond from the road. I had no idea how well that would work out. About 5 minutes after the Eagles there were several very healthy red fox. I wanted to live like this, it was a bit of a chance but it has worked out just wonderfully. Thanks for sharing. I love hearing about everyone's stories.
