(9,565 posts)These two clear tapes are very similar to each other and I've never had a problem starting or finding the beginning or the tape splitting in the process. I've never had a problem with cutting the tape off the roll blade either.

One year I ran out of 3M Scotch packaging/shipping tape and I bought a roll from the post office. I had to use scissors to cut off the tape because I couldn't cut off the tape using the roll blade. It was obnoxious and I never purchased packing/shipping tape from the post office again after that.
I recently purchased 2 rolls of 3M Scotch Sure Start packaging tape at Walmart. It says it's a Made in USA product with globally sourced materials.
