(106,328 posts)Tail-gating and flashing lights to try to get one to move into the right lane. Well, Boulevards and Avenues are designed for slower traffic and frequent right and left turns. Where these idiots get the idea that they should be treated like interstate highways (ignoring how aggressive and dangerous their driving is there), just drives me nuts. Even in the wee hours, I encounter this to the point local law enforcement is going to deploy new unrecognizable speed and license plate detection technology all over areas I drive. Anyone driving over 10 mph over the speed limit will get a ticket in the mail and repeat offenders will eventually face court appearances.
I know it is not JUST younger drivers, but they seem to be the worst--male teens--in my experience. Some horrific wrecks lately have me really unnerved.

(106,328 posts)They aren't being extremely forthcoming, but a few Denver news types have been allowed to gain some insight under agreements not to fully report. They have said that these devices will not be identifiable--at least until new tech can identify their (miniaturized) camera signatures.

(28,594 posts)Usually the same drivers are guilty of both. Pick a lane, FFS. Preferably well in advance of when you need to go four lanes over to exit.

People who park in handicap spaces without being handicapped.

(9 posts)Are you referring to people parked without a decal, or just the ones who don't "look handicap", even though they legitimately have a decal? I've seen some Karen situations where people actually have non-visible handicaps.

(6,338 posts)I once watched a group of young guys walking across a city walkway and approach a set of stairs. The second one started to go down as the first one hit the landing and turned. The guy behind him suddenly shoved him down the stairs. He and all his friends thought it was hilarious. The guy who was pushed was pretty mad, but was unhurt. The first guy was indifferent to it all.
I thought about strolling over and cracking open the guy's skull with my police baton. (Usually concealed on my person in non-local areas.) That kind of thing is not funny and the brat deserved to be reamed out for doing it. The others deserved to be yelled at for being so indifferent to such a dangerous act. And, I bet they still think that guy is their friend.

(8,636 posts)It almost caused a road rage incident, and I haven't repeated it.
I have developed and rolled out a milder form of retribution. If the offender is behind me in the right lane and I am making a right turn, I do it eeeeeeever so slowly. Deaccelerate reaalllllly gradually. Put on my right-hand turn signal at the last minute (don't want to break the law). Then reeaaallly reaaallly gingerly and cautiously make my right turn. Lots of brake.

(69,852 posts)...saw a guy in an oversized pickup truck, lifted with the $1,000 each wheels & $500 each tires, moaning about the price gas. Bur, while pumping gas while his truck was running! In May. Not cold, not hot.
But, left the truck running & was whining about gas prices while driving a truck that had to set him back 60 grand or more.

Also, drivers who speed up on me, whip out into the left lane then jump in front of me to exit. OR the opposite: drivers who come up the ramp and then merge in at a snail's pace
When I lived in Nashville, there was some sort of rule that no driver could let anyone get in front of them. I would start out in the appropriate distance behind a car and before I knew it there would be 3 cars in front of me.

(388 posts)Drivers behind me at a traffic light who want to turn right on a red arrow. They expect me to go ahead and turn after stopping, but this would be a traffic violation. Drivers must wait for a green arrow unless there is a sign posted allowing such a move.
An intersection that I occasionally traverse has this type of signal where I only ever turn right. Sometimes drivers behind me are irritated enough to back up a little and move over to the breakdown lane to get around me.
