I have to go to the ER later cuz the dr ofc is booked, and that's the only other option. Nurse on call said to get it looked at asap...
2 weeks ago I got a pedicure, Felt like the parafinn burned me. Noe it's tichy and red and theres a couple bumps, the toe next to it is affected now too and one of the ones on the other foot...
I just hope it's not MRSA or something horrific.
Can't get to the ER till this afternoon, but at least it's not purple or anything...

It seems to be worse later in the day... and I haven't been wearing shoes in the house anyway.

(19,304 posts)Don't worry, whatever it is, they will knock it out, but please make sure to get there ASAP. You don't want to mess around with something like that.
I had cellulitis on my earlobe once. Oral antibiotics took care of it.

(10,353 posts)and it took two months for antibiotics to finally kill it, including daily Rocephin injections for 15 days, all at the start of covid. I wish you much better luck.

(7,105 posts)But, a minor case because I am a nurse and recognized it early. A course of oral antibiotics and a prescription for cream to her legs prevented any further problems.
Elevate your legs. Get antibiotics asap.

Two weeks or more on IV antibiotics. It had to be reinserted every day. I have shy veins so it was a daily torture session. Hopefully yours will go much smoother.
My hand was red, swollen. I didn't get it looked at right away so the infection was already spreading in a blue/black streak up my wrists. Yes, pls get it looked at right away.
The pain was just bearable and it was constant. Maybe you could get painkillers, I didn't but should have.
Good luck. Sorry you're going through this.

(12,453 posts)One day I woke up with a sore on the top of my foot. I thought it was from my foot hanging over the edge of the mattress when I sleep and I rubbed it raw. I treated like a wound put Neosporin on it. I keep spreading, itching, and I had little blisters. it wasn't getting any better. I googled it and found pictures that convinced me to try athletes foot treatment. get the foot cream with Clotrimazole (Lotrimin). Athletes foot is a fungus, same as jock itch, it can psread, wash your hands. I started seeing immediate results. Wear clean sock everyday. I also use these everyday before I put my socks on. https://getsmoothaf.com/
I hope it gets better.
