What Christmas traditions of your youth are no longer around. Mine is canned ham. I hated it back then, Opening up the

can with the key and simply letting go of the tension sent the metal wire flying. How about you. ? And that hard candy in the metal tin. Glad they are gone.

Probably some grocery stores too.

Amazon: Sells a variety of canned hams, including HORMEL, Goya Foods, Iberia, DAK, and BRISTOL
Walmart: Sells canned hams from brands like SPAM, Armour, BRISTOL, and Bumble Bee
Sam's Club: Sells HORMEL Black Label Canned Ham, which is fully cooked and has an extended shelf life

So, you can't buy the Hormel Black Label for next year (or the year after, or the year after that...LOL )

Violent crime rate is lower now than it was through most of the 20th century.

However, modern plastic tinsel is still something to keep away from pets, so I don’t use it.

to remind us of the one orange she would get in her stocking as a girl on a farm during the Depression. One orange was all they had to give the kids as oranges were not regular fare in Canada then but were a Christmas treat.

I’m not sure why. It probably came from an early St. Nicholas tradition of giving socks at Christmas before it morphed into getting special socks to hang. It may have even been a tradition handed down for generations. Anyways for some reason my mother would buy regular socks for everyone. We would get our normal presents. We would have the normal Christmas stockings also. After she passed away my wife took that over. Last year after my wife passed away I took over. A strange tradition that has been going on for who knows how long.

Better than the last few years, but nothing like I was a kid.
We do have a neighbor that goes all out.
Lives on the next street, but we can see it from put upstairs windows. (The house behind us I'd a ranch, so can see right over it.)
He's got lights, projections, lighted trees, moving light displays, lighted reindeer...
And, the moving lights are timed to music that plays through some sort of all-weather speaker.
It's probably the biggest display in town.

I used to go caroling with a group that collected money for some charity in Nashville called The Fanny Battle Home. I did this for several years. Going house to house in my neighborhood and surrounding neighborhoods.

used to make during the Christmas season. I tried making divinity but it got burnt. you really need a double burner pan--like mom had for as long as I can remember.

The peanut brittle I made got suggery--I tried twice. So gave up on both.

from fiberglass, which is why it was discontinued as unsafe.

Spray can "snow" for trees. You could buy your own can and do it yourself instead of paying for expensive flocked trees.
