(18,003 posts)The meals are nice and the quality is great. My only complaint is that they continued to send weekly boxes for like a month after we ended the trial.
I didnt consider it to be all that fresh. It was far from old and expired though. I thought it was a good value. The portions were reasonable. The quality was reasonable. The main reason we stopped using it was effective scheduling, and trying to find things we both liked given the choices. I am just not an adventurous eater. Id say its definitely worth a try to see if its a good fit.

(12,277 posts)The first time we got it was when I was going through cancer treatment and hubby and daughter were going to be doing the shopping and cooking. We just started it up again and it's much more customizable now than it was 2 yrs ago. I can't think of a thing that I wouldn't get again. Everything we've tried has been delicious. We just did firecracker meatballs the other night with scallion rice and roasted green beans. We had been getting meals for 6, but cut it back to 4 since our son and his fiance don't eat here as often as they had. Don't be afraid of the 'heat' ratings. I haven't come across a recipe yet where the heat level was not adjustable. Oh, and now they have 'big batch' items where the recipe is double-sized so you either have enough for a group or some to freeze.
The drawback for me was/is prep time. I've been known to cheat by using our jarred ginger rather than peeling and mincing the fresh, or by using dried thyme rather than picking the fresh from the stems. It works out much closer to the time listed if you have 2 people cooking/prepping. Their 'quick' meals are great. We usually get one of those and one of the more standard meals each week. Skipping a week is no problem. We did find if you switched the number of servings you purchase per week, that resets any menus past that chosen change date so we had to go back in and reselect our menus. We've ordered everything from sandwiches, tacos, pasta, soup, chili, to their more 'gourmet' dishes. I love that it can teach you new ways or methods of cooking.

(1,044 posts)Some of the meals were really good. Some not so much.
I had a problem with the vegetable quality. Almost every shipment there was a problem with at least one veg. That said I am very picky about vegetable freshness. Im a farmers market kinda gal.
My husband hated it. 🙄Too many onions! He didnt see much value in meals you had to prepare. Our local grocery store has really good premade meals.

(7,189 posts)The food was fresh. And the cooking I structions were clear and the timing of the meat was perfect for the cuts they sent. I had a lot of fun doing it.
