In Munich the artillery barrage has started

It is around 7:30 PM.
We are keeping our powder dry until closer to midnight.
It is really amazing how many fireworks are lighted. And the size of some of the things you can get in the grocerystore.
They are from safe and sane(?) to pretty big things. We had bottle rockets that went higher than our 8 story building.

Of course the garbage gets largely left for the street cleaners and Hausmeisters.

Wir wunschen ihrer DU Familie einen guten Rutsch ins neus Jahr.

and enjoy the show, too. It sounds like a war!

It’s Texas so some fool or another just has to shoot off a round or five. Seriously?

Happy New Year!

for the rounds returning to earth.
Isn't there usually at least one person killed from bullets falling back to earth?

You can get them sized for two on up to about a dozen.
The stores sell Raclette cheese ready to go.

they always send pics and I invariably waste an hour looking at them on line but I just have NO room left for stuff like that.

Many Germans have seasonal things. So they keep winter things in the cellar in the summer. I don't have one either. My spaces are limited and I can live without raclette.

Serious barrage going on now. The Netherlands takes their fireworks seriously.

My sis-in-law & I were hoping to get into the Hofbräuhaus München on NYE, but silly us. We had been earlier in the week, so we decided to try NYE. As we were walking from our hostel to the restaurant, we saw all sorts of people in fancy clothing & evening attire. Needless to say, we did not have the proper attire, nor reservations. 😂

We were backpacking across Europe & Munich was one of our destination cities. Our clothing consisted of Patagonia underwear & winter attire. Oh well, we still had a great time.

We stay at home.

An Aside, we camped in Death Valley for a few years the week before Xmas. We would make reservations for the fancy Xmas dinner at Furnace creek. Then left on the 26/27 as people from LA came in for New Years.
