(1,183 posts)He's the young man who is being held for the killing of the health insurance CEO.
He seems to have become a symbol for people's' feelings of being screwed over by health care companies. The actions of those companies have killed more people than he ever will. At the same time, while the dead man's decisions certainly contributed to those deaths, US law does not yet have a way to assign blame for criminality of this sort. If we had this law, Trump would be in jail for the maimings and deaths of Jan 6th. (I am surprised he wasn't at least considered for a felony murder charge, at least before the Supreme Court gave him a blank check
Anyway.)
What show or channel?

(15,725 posts)He's an interesting figure for a lot of reasons, prompting some uncomfortable but necessary public discussions.
Edited to add: It's also available in HBO/"Max" -- so I can watch it later. Thanks again!

(15,725 posts)A documentary about an interesting crime is coming on. You don't get to tell others what to post.
It was very interesting and interviewed ppl whose needed Healthcare was denied and the backgrounds of mangione and his victim.

(125,665 posts)making a hero of this nut is not going to garner supporters of the hard work that everybody has to do to get/keep good Healthcare. If we want to warn the ceos we can change insurers or boycott (Feb 28 don't buy anything from a corporation) because all they understand or care about is money anyways. The US health insurers don't care who dies remember. They won't be moved by people like Luigi.
