Hello - I saw this posted on Facebook last night...I tried snopes and google to see if I could find more information but was unsuccessful.
Does anyone have some more information about this?
Thank you very much.
Tim
Update: Several posters were kind enough to respond and to let me know that I should remove the original link (which I have now done).

(1,389 posts)Actually, my wife's cousin is a Facebook friend (very conservative) who posted this on his page...I wanted to respond to him (but I wanted to make sure I had my facts straight before I did)...and I thought that this would be a good group to check with first.
Thanks again for responding.

(1,389 posts)I apologize for posting the link - as I mentioned in my previous post, this was posted on a Facebook page (my wife's cousin, who is very conservative) - and I wanted to see if this had been "debunked" before responding to him. I had not heard of this happening, so I thought it best to provide context so people could respond.
But I apologize if this was the wrong group to post this in.

(53,475 posts)Ask your cousin's wife to provide a reliable source for this and you'll not hear from her about it again.

(3,145 posts)I can't believe you actually think this obvious paranoid bullshit even needs to be checked out.

(1,389 posts)Before responding to my wife's cousing I wanted to have another source that I could link to his post that would show that this information was false....which is why I wanted to get the feedback from this group.
But I apologize if this was the wrong thing to do.
Thank you again.

(18,219 posts)but I see that you are not getting a lot of help here. Here is an article explaining what this is about:
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/12/03/veterans-gun-rights-defense-bill_n_2230786.html
I would probably not respond at all to this FB post, but if you choose to, note that this is the same for vets as it is for the general public. People who are mentally ill are not supposed to be able to buy guns. And that is all they are talking about. I even read some of the comments, and found that some vets were not opposed, knowing some veterans who are not capable of dealing with life, much less possessing guns.

(1,389 posts)You are probably correct about responding to the FB post - we really don't see him that much (he's in West Virginia, and we live in Maryland) but I wouldn't want to cause too much dissention in the family
If I do rely, however, the information you provided is very helpful.
Thanks again!
