1. Why?

Just curious as to why I would bother to get into details about this.

I will just say a very generalized answer for now.....the problems he is pointing out in "Democratic run" cities is not only happening in Democratic cities, it is the way almost every city is evolving. The only people who are able to afford to live in the cities are usually very well off, and the working class and middle class have had to move further out in the suburbs. This has been happening for years.

I guess I just had this crazy notion that people here might be interested in debunking some propaganda.

I think that we are all so tired of having to debunk bullshit all the time. At least I am. The reason that I asked "why" was to know whether you had been challenged on this by a wingnut and were looking for ammo, or if it was just an exercise. To be honest, I am one of those people who will refute every email I get, or every argument from a right winger, so I get lots of exercise in researching the truth and the lies. I will work at helping you go up against someone (especially if that person is on the fence and is being influenced by a winger lie), but doing this for fun? Yikes.

I think this group has the potential to become a sort of one-stop shop for debunking wingnut arguments. But if the enthusiasm isn't there, there's no point in trying to be that one guy yelling "Come on everybody, show a little team spirit".

For the record, no I haven't been challenged personally using this line of attack. Yet. But it was a new one on me, and knowing the way the right works, the first time I see it probably won't be the last.
