(5,945 posts)The origins of this seem to be from an artivle published on the Breitbart site on 10/19/2014. Apparently someone got hold of an RFP for ID card blanks and decided it means amnesty is coming. Never mind that there are already 54 million legitimate ID cards out there in circulation right now.

(10 posts)I'm all for compromise on immigration, and don't fret over a few million illegals getting amnesty. However:
Is the desire for immigration control Left or Right? Well, among privileged hipsters, idealists, and the politically correct, all progressive folks must be for open borders. Or, so it seems.
However, go down to the blue collar areas of town and you'll hear true talk about how big business wants to keep pressure on American workers by way of lax border enforcement. Capitalism, at times, seems to be about cheap labor, above all else. A docile workforce, which will put up with abuse because it is here illegally.
I see this issue as one where blue collar people and left activists diverge. The left activists merely think they are the advocates for the working people, at times.
That's what I see going on.
