this was the only forum I could find that was even close ... and it took me awhile to find it.

On edit: so is mine. How'd I do that? And why do I still need to use HTML for formatting?

(32,375 posts)Xemasab's poll on DU2 says there are a lot more socialists around. Maybe we could get some more traffic in here.

(34,318 posts)and broke it down by types of socialism. There is a lot of variety - including quite a few folks who'd like to see the type of mixed economies the Scandinavian countries have developed. I hope when this group goes live it will have reading submissions so folks can learn some of the theory. We've been inundated with so much anti-red propaganda in this country that just being able to define "socialist" accurately is a challenge for many Americans.

(6,255 posts)I'm looking forward to talking with you all and learning more. Hopefully we can have some in depth discussion on theory in this forum.

(11,481 posts)This actually could be fun. Although I will miss agitating and advocating for Marxist positions on the more general boards.

I had Red Rosa as my atavar on d2, but can't locate her in 3. I miss her! Not that she was exactly a Leninist, but she was a good friend to them and a helluva fighter.

(1,404 posts)but none I wish to name from this long distance in time. Family, age, health, time, and other stuff intervened. What a long strange trip it's been. But exceedingly gratifying.
The fire is gone now, but not the sentiment. I'm quite isolated and DU has become my little eye on the world - there are many good people here and I get news. And occasionally meet a kindred spirit, but not often a Leninist. People have no notion how he dissected imperialism, and how much of what he wrote is still relevant and useful.
I think I'm going to dust off my Collected Works and reread a bit, now.

And thanks also for the post in DU, which made it easy for me to find.
