Politics may be the art of the possible, but sometimes it’s about having the dexterity to get out of an impossible situation.

We’ll see if Rep. Scott Peters has it.

The San Diego Democrat is facing a hard decision: how to vote on the Trade Promotion Authority and, if that passes, the Trans-Pacific Partnership.

The president wants him to vote yes, and organized labor is threatening to end his tenure at two terms if he does.
