We slow down during the winter months, but it's good to know where to go with questions. Which reminds me . . . I've got a vintage handbag with a musty smell inside. It's cheesy plastic, but worthy of freshening up because it's ugly. I forgot what we decided worked best for musty smells.

I've been told that if you put a dryer sheet (bounce or the like) in an item and set it aside for awhile it will help the smell. We don't use dryer sheets, so I've never tried it but the conversation was between a couple of old antique dealers and they all agreed. I've used Murphy's soap to wipe wood that smelled moldy and it helped.

Good luck.

We put charcoal in our basement to take care of musty smells and it's working. A piece of charcoal wrapped in paper to protect the interior might help also.

Please let us know if anything worked on your purse.

Think positive, spring is only 4 months away and this group will be busy again.
