ebay pics. grrrrrr.

so, if you sell small objects on ebay, pleeeeease take good, clear shots.
i've become obsessed w wedgwood jewelry. the figures wear down if they are worn regularly.
it is so damn hard to figure out how much wear there is from about 80% of the pics.

i sorta dont mind getting one that is a bit worn, as it give me permission to wear it more often.
i can guess. but i end up paying the same for well worn ones as for pristine ones.
they are pretty cheap. usually $20-50. but i would happily pay and extra $10 for the nice crisp ones.

ps, if any of you have any wedgewood, lemme know.
would rather buy from my du buds.

but most are about twice what they go for on etsy.
did find the one i wanted on there, diana the hunter, aka diana and the stag. but it cost my $75.

3. Don't know if you do Instagram or not but

there are thrifters who sell on Insta...their photos are typically of excellent quality. I’ve found a handful of sellers that I follow who hunt for things I’m looking for (handmade brooms, studio pottery). Every transaction I’ve made over the years has been seamless. Once you purchase one thing, the algorithm will filter similar items to you. I now have thrifters who see vintage brooms and send links to me! It’s really fun.

I hate FB with a passion and I realize that Insta is owned by the evil empire but I've come to love the platform. It is quite simple to filter out the crazy by keeping your account private. I joined to keep an eye on my kiddo's social media and BAM, I got sucked into the vortex. Just yesterday, I thrifter/seller that I've purchased items from in Oregon who sent me a link to another thrifter in San Diego who had a beautiful vintage hand made broom for sale for $22!! She's shipping it to me today. Win!! It is contact free, harmless fun.

Now that I know what you collect, I'll be keeping my eyes open.... It's so fun.

5. sometimes i do.

i was looking at one in the uk. i messaged mostly cuz the shipping was nuts.
the opening on the ring was $10, but the shipping was $35!
told them i was interested. they said they agreed it was outrageous. it was ebay shipping.
the auction ends today. she said she'd just send it royal post. $10.

but w so many on the market, i dont bother, mostly.

8. Pictures are just one way of telling the good sellers from the bad ones.

only one or a limited number of bad pics vs a full set of good ones.
That's how you know who cares and ships fast and is trying to be professional.
In my experience folks who have bad pics also package their goods poorly and ship slowly.
It shows up in feedback too.
