Color swatches. Pigment based, brand comparisons.

So. I got an email from Jerry's Artarama. It was a sale (duh) that included Rembrandt watercolors, which I have never tried.

So I did a google search to see if there were any particular colors that were favorites and I stumble upon this site:

https://www.kimcrick.com/pages/pigment-database-swatch-card-color-charts-for-watercolor-paint-ink-gouache-acrylic

Rather than color, she groups her comparisons based on pigment. So if you start with the Yellow, she starts with PY1.

Thought others might find it helpful.

(If you're curious, I'm trying the Ultra Marine Violet, PV15 and the Greenish Umber, PBr8 and the sale ($25+) includes a Rembrandt dot card.)

Always happy to find new resources.

I'm pretty new and haven't done a lot of mixing. I started with a Daniel Smith pan set and barely touched the phthalo blue or phthalo green... until I discovered what happens when I mix a little jane's grey with them!

Lots to explore!

It also looks like that's gonna be the first half pan I'll need to replace! Followed very closely by the magical quin gold.

edit: oops. meant to reply to GPV!!
