I would make copies of different sizes, including a pretty large one. The effect really changes depending on the size.

This is the first one that I have completely finished and am happy with.

Ive never had one matted (is that the right word?) or had copies made.

Truth be told, Im not even sure where to take it to have it done. I know I better get it done soon because the edges are starting to curl.

3. There are a couple of inexpensive places you can go to

Try a copying store like Kinkos or Fedex that have the services. Some of them have services where you can enlarge things a lot! You can use the photo on your phone or if you have it on your computer use an flash drive to transfer it and take it to the store. I would call the stores to find a more extensive one that has more enlarging sizes. You can get them to mount it like a poster with a mat or glossy finish. Be careful though because their glossy is super glossy. I personally don’t like it.

Another is if you have an account with Photobucket. They have a print service where you have a large choice of sizes and you can make your prints look like photographs or posters or paintings on canvas. They give huge discounts so be sure to look those up while you order. You can also choose a mat or glossy finish. Try both. They deliver within days.

A just got three copies of a photograph which I enlarged to 8x8 and chose a mat finish. I just uploaded it to my Photobucket account.

If your phone takes lousy photos try using one that takes better shots like an iPhone. Maybe someone you know has one.

5. Good info!

There's a Fedex store a few miles away. What is the best way to preserve the original?

I don't have much in the way of art supplies, just a sketch pad, pencils, and some markers. I like bright colors, but painting is extremely frustrating due to tremors.

6. Store the original between two blank sheets and two pieces of cardboard.

You might spray it with fixative which you can get in an art store or online under art materials. Spraying it will not alter it in any way but it will protect the colors and the paper from yellowing. If you use pencil or charcoal the spray will protect them from being smeared. Just be sure to do it outdoors because it really smells. Spray back and forth lightly without getting the paper wet. One pass side to side and one up and down is plenty.

You can use the cardboard backing of the same kind of pad you drew it from. That will keep it flat and keep it from fading. Anything stiff will keep it from curling.
