It’s reflected in so much electronic art that is developing now. Dali created a visualization of art in movement, becoming something else. He just happened to paint a frozen moment of this movement. Things morph in the mind all the time, especially in dreams where landscapes are seemingly barren and disconnected to objects caught in mid meltdown as they give us their fluid meaning.

Now, with the advent of moving visual art presented by the fluidity that the screen and the internet enable we see much more of this. But when Dali created these strange worlds out of his unique imagination it was pioneering forays into the discovery of the human mind. He was way ahead of his time. He molded what was to be accepted as normal some day, but not so much in his day. He was a visionary though he may not have felt that way. He could never be pinned down.
