I used my lucida app to trace this one so I could just start painting on site, but I still had to finish at home.

(53,410 posts)Its like a painting of a storybook house with its wonderful country architecture. I love what you did the roof, giving it an aging look of an old time country house. Your brushwork for the details of the stones In the house and the wall is really well done, making the painting warm and inviting. The shadows are also lovely and interesting and add perspective and include a light source. I very much like the perspective of looking up at the house from the road too.
Your treatment of the trees has improved a great deal. The contrast between the light background tree and the closer darker one In the upper right by just using washes is showing a minimalistic sophisticated usage of your medium. Your work shows youre growing ease with using the paints. Perhaps thats because youre painting quick studies of the subject. The trees on the left are more refined than what Ive seen in some of your other paintings. I can see your development.
Its a wonderfully warm painting.

(73,050 posts)was very heavy and had eaten a lot of the green up. I was very worried about having no light left in them. I am very happy with how they turned out, though. I cant recall how I did it, but I might be able to do it again with some playing around.
