(309 posts)I concidered sending in some ink drawings. I never did it. I now have a bunch of these and really don't know what to do with them. At my senior age I thought of just throwing them in the trash, really. I'll post more here on DU. Later.

I took a class in India Ink Illustrations that demonstrated various strokes like cross hatching, stippling and other pen marks that will all add shading, depth, texture, as well as build the illustration in layers. Haven't picked up a pen I years, and now my hands tremble too much to even start.

(309 posts)done drawing in years. Really, I started drawing at age 5. In High School I took up art and painted in oils. Won a Scholastic Art Award. I then decided to switch to acrylic paints. Gave up that and went dry for awhile. The internet began to rise in the 90's and I started to do digital artwork. Which is where I'm at now. Although with this poltical stuff I've been doing digital political art and not doing creative digital art.

(53,410 posts)It reminds me of the 1920s stylish and chic clothes when hats and head pieces were an integral part of the clothing for women.
You have a very nice composition with the inclusion of the curved stand and the vase of flowers. Your lines are flowing and light and kept simple and clean. I like the flower designs and the contrast of the solid white and black dress with its fur plunging collar and the matching head piece. The composition looks like the lady and the vase and stand are curving towards each other each attracting the other and both being important subjects. Its lovely, and airy and smooth. Very nice.

(309 posts)I may have been inspired by him. Not to copy but to do my own thing. A lot of my inks show a funny little man hiding in the corner, something like the little man in many of Federico Fellini movies who would comment on the side.
