The earlier gun movies centered around westerns and gunslingers. The more modern ones tend to include more modern and ever more lethal weaponry. I dont think that leads to gun violence though. That idea follows the same route as video games leading to violence and I dont think thats shown to be true. Easy access to guns is the number one factor I think.
