Sean Bianco's "At the Opera" for Friday and Saturday Dec. 29 and 30.

Times are Pacific standard time.

Don't miss tonight's rebroadcast of last weeks Holiday Tiki Lounge 5-7 and At the Opera featuring Amahl and the Night Visitors and La boheme 7 to 11.

Tomorow night will be a brand new Tiki Lounge at 5 and At the Opera Broadcast at 7.

Sean counts Amahl and the Night Visitors as a Christmas opera, rightly so, IMO, but also counts La Boheme as a Christmas opera because it is set at Christmas time. It's quite the lovely and effervescent opera, but has a sad ending. No spoiler there; most operas have sad or tragic endings. The entire ring cycle does.

Sean worked very hard to reinstate his "At the Opera" program after it was shut down by CapRadio in a nasty fiscal fiasco. He landed at live365.com, and it's a benefit to all that he did.

Unfortunately, the live365 app and the web streaming do not work on older, spare computers and devices. One might not want to hook their latest and greatest computer or phone to the sound system instead of the 2010 gadget that is not doing anything else. Bluetooth is awful and long audio cables pick up electrical noise.

Internet radio, along with every musical source, really needs good sound gear, namely speakers, not to sound like "an orchestra in a phone booth".

Cheers, everyone.
Enjoy Classical Music.
