Socialst city council member Kshama Sawant on organizing for single payer

Kshama Sawant is well known in the Pacific Northwest for winning a Seattle City Council seat as a Socialist and mobilizing Seattle to pass a $15/hour minimum wage resolution.

In this video Kshama Sawant provides an in depth history and sociological analysis of the single payer movement. She shows that even though the vast majority of American peoples support single payer, corporate money and strategy has worked up to this point to block its implementation. She states that we can win single payer only by strongly advocating for single payer as has successfully been done in Vermont and by not making concessions that weaken our political force. She outlines a strategy for building a mass single payer movement.
