(NOT Jimi Hendrix), who was briefly married to Cass Elliot… and in the short-lived folk rock band The Mugwumps, which featured Elliot, Denny Doherty and Zal Yanovsky. They split up after several months when Zal joined with John Sebastian to form Lovin’ Spoonful, and Elliot and Doherty went on to become half of The Mamas and the Pappas.

Hendricks also wrote “Long Lonesome Highway”, the theme song of the TV series Then Came Bronson.

“Summer Rain” was one of Rivers’ biggest hits.
