Pretty clear that Keith listened to a lot of Monk. This piece has a lot of that influence.
From the sound of the piano, he's playing a lot of this hard! The ting at hammer hit is pretty obvious on many passages.

… I recall reading an interview of Jarrett many years ago, where he remarked that piano was in part a percussive instrument. It’s clear from his playing of many compositions that he played it that way.

What a brilliant composer and instrumentalist he was! (I think he has retired from playing publicly.)

In larger jazz bands & orchestras piano was often considered part of the rhythm section. So Keith would have company with that opinion.
Monk sure thought that way, which is why I'm pretty heavy handed as a player.
