She had family in the area and would come down and perform here in Chapel Hill. That would have been about 25-40 years ago. She did at least two New Years performances. So appropriate:

"What are you doing New Year's Eve?"

A really nice person and a great singer. She introduced many of the standards in the 1940s and 1950s, had many top 10 hits.
