That was in 1966, when I was attending the State University of NY at Albany....when I was young.

I caught him at the Golden Bear in Huntington Beach California in '81, " I was younger then". I would not have remembered the date, so I looked it up stumbled on this long read https://concerts.fandom.com/wiki/Eric_Burdon
