(68,460 posts)This is off Listen Like Thieves, which was a terrific album.
Over the years, I covered at least 20 tunes by them. All the way back to "Underneath The Colors"!
Big fan. My wife & I saw them on the Kick tour.

(2,964 posts)and I was looking at the INXS listings and I had realized that somehow I was missing the "Listen Like Thieves"
album on my IPod. I'm not sure why it wasn't there anymore.
I first heard of them when the the song "The One Thing" was getting airplay later I saw them on MTV playing at the US Festival. I don't have the first album but I did have "Underneath the Colours" on CD at one time, it was ok but when "Shabooh Shoobah" came out they were on their way.
I never heard the last two albums they released with Michael Hutchence. I was away from Music for about a decade and going through a dark period and I thought he had died just after "Welcome to Wherever You Are". It wasn't until I noticed the missing Thieves album that I saw there were two more albums plus the ones without Hutchence which I knew about. His death kind of put me into a funk and I'm not ready for those last two albums.

(68,460 posts)Especially since he was writing up a storm & couldn't wait to get back with the guys to record.
It bummed us out, too.
We did at least 2 songs off every album with Michael, except the first one. (We just did the title track.)
We did, I think, 5 songs off "Kick"
We did "The One Thing" at probably 75% of all the shows over 20 years (over 1,600 gigs together). Fantastic song. Was one of our trademark tunes, but not as much as "Don't Change". We probably DIDN'T play that song at 25 gigs over all that time.
