This is a basically a meme, Simpsons already did it, etc. Even though this song is almost as old as I am, I never actually listened to it, until now.

On a recent road trip this came up on SiriusXM. I listened to it then, and listened to it again. I had to. And I wish I could have turned it up on my tube amp, turned on the color organ, and settled in to my bean bag.

On the first recording take, the singer started off badly mumbling the words. The consensus was to incorporate the mumble, and the rest was history.
