Seems like just yesterday I was at this concert in Baltimore!

They were the headliners of the "Summer Sanitarium" tour. Kid Rock was also there --although back then I liked a couple of his songs. System of a Down rocked it as well.

But it was hot as hell....and I had managed to get fairly close to the stage (on the GA field) before getting hit in the face (upper lip) with a flying license plate emblazoned with some radio station's name on it. I thought it was a frisbee at first, then saw all the blood on my shirt. My friends and I had gotten separated, so I turned around and asked the people behind me (who were high as kites) how it looked ("Dude--you should get that looked at!" ).

So off I went to the first aid unit in the concourse, where stitches were recommended. I asked if that could wait until after the concert and they said yes and bandaged me up. By the time I got home and went to the Christiana Hospital, I sat and waited in the waiting room until 3 AM. I was taking a summer class at the University of Delaware that started (first class) at 8 AM. So I went home, went to class with a bandaid on my lip--looking all crazed and exhausted--then went home and slept. Never got the stitches and survived. The scar has faded but the memories have not.

No chance to get back onto the field, so I sat in the seats to protect my boo boo.
