"Look Through Any Window" is a song by the British beat group the Hollies. It was their follow-up single to their first UK chart-topper, "I'm Alive", and reached No.4 in the UK Singles Chart at the beginning of October 1965.
"Look Through Any Window" was The Hollies' first American Billboard Top 40 hit, peaking at No.32 on 22 January 1966 ("Just One Look" in 1964 had been the band's first American chart hit). It made No.3 in Canada in the RPM Magazine charts, as well as in South Africa. Written by songwriters Graham Gouldman and Charles Silverman, it features a distinctive 12-string guitar riff, soaring harmonies and Bobby Elliotts explosive drumming. They also recorded a version in French ( titled "Regardez par des fenêtres" ) that was not officially released at the time but was included on the 1988 compilation Rarities.
Cash Box described it as a "medium-paced laconic teen-slanted ditty with a contagious repeating rhythmic riff."[9]
First released as a single in the UK, it was included in the US version of the band's 1965 album Hollies titled Hear! Here! by their US label, Imperial Records.
The B-side, "So Lonely", later included on Hollies and Hear! Here!, was also recorded by the Everly Brothers and released in July 1966 on their Two Yanks in England album.

"Look Through Any Window" is one of my favorite songs ever.

This is for the Francophones. I learned of this through the Wikipedia entry.

This French language version of one of their biggest hits was recorded around Christmas of 1965. After putting their best effort into this song trying to get ahead of any French copycats. EMI - France rejected it. This is a stereo monitor mix.

(69,678 posts)...Graham is the one just right of center holding a guitar.
He's much harder to spot in the 1st pic. Must be the angle.
In the "live" video of the song, he's on the far left playing acoustic guitar.
You're Right! They're all very young in these pictures. It was nearly 60 years ago, & Graham is 82 now. So, he would have been early 20s. We all looked pretty young in our early 20s.
here in new orleans "professor" is a title of extreme respect for the greatest piano masters.

(69,678 posts)Back in the early AOL days, I was moonlighting at a Chicago university teaching advanced organic mechanisms, part time.
The original instructor was someone I used to work with (at a different company). He had heart surgery & wasn't going to be able to work & teach for a couple years. He recommended me, and I took the part-time gig.
Every instructor got a AOL account (the school paid) and the email for everyone was "ProfessorXXX" at AOL, where the X's were our initials.
That guy never got healthy enough to come back, so 2 years became 5. But, my work travel schedule started to interfere, so I had to walk away.
I didn't stay with AOL, but kept the username.
I'm a piano player & guitarist. Pretty darned good at both, but the username has nothing to do with musicianship.
If you've not heard these, here's a sample of some stuff I recorded.
