Top 10 Mick Taylor Rolling Stones Songs
Ran across this 2016 article from Ultimate Classic Rock, published on Mick's 67th birthday, the other night.

It's now missing half of the 10 music videos originally in the article, but they're easy enough to find on YouTube, and the information about what Taylor contributed to these songs is important.
And I found the article really interesting for what it says about Taylor not getting songwriting credits he should've had. (He's also had to sue even over performance royalties, and I don't know how that turned out.). The Stones have been generous with compliments, talking about what a great guitarist he is and how much he did for them, but of course compliments are free to give out.
And yeah, I know this is a common story with all too many bands. Still aggravating. I still love much of the Stones' music, especially from the years Mick Taylor was with them, but I wish he'd been given more credit and royalties.
At the top of Ultimate Classic Rock's list of best songs Taylor did with the Stones:
"Sway"
From: 'Sticky Fingers' (1971)
Taylor was credited with co-writing only one song during his five years with the Stones, "Ventilator Blues" from Exile on Main St. But he was most likely responsible for sizable chunks of other songs (see Nos. 10 and 3 on our list of the Top 10 Mick Taylor Rolling Stones Songs). This great cut from Sticky Fingers is his best. He not only reportedly wrote the song with Jagger (during another one of Richards' absences), but he also played the bluesy slide in the middle of the song and the terrific lead at the end. Richards may have been responsible for the Stones' greatest riffs, but Taylor was behind their best-ever solos.
