I didn't notice it when it came out, but it wasn't a good sound.

I'd thought the (original) sound was deliberate. Elsewhere, I once described the sound in Earthshine as like being able to hear the Earth move.

I was never a huge fan, so I don't know the deeper cuts.
But, that first one is a very cool tune.
