I heard "Just What I Needed" on the radio ONCE.
Went and bought the album immediately.
Their sound hit me as so appealing right away.
Elliott Easton is #1 on my list as most underrated rock guitarist. A truly wonderful & versatile player.

(8,568 posts)2. I remember The Cars 8-track tapes at my grandparents' house growing up
I think they belonged to one of my aunts. I was maybe 10 and wasn't into music yet. I just found them odd yet interesting. 8-tracks were on the way out at the time.
I'm more a child of the 80's, but the Cars segued into the MTV era nicely (not all of the great 70's bands did). The Drive video is a masterpiece.
