The McCoy's didn't actually play on the record. They sang it, but studio cats played on it.
Then record business folks realized Rick could actually play, so he got into the business & changed his name.
His album, All American Boy, was sensational. And, he did a fantastic job as producer on They Only Come Out At Night (along with Bill Szymczyk).
