What's a good way to view electronic sheet music nowadays ?

I'm a couple of decades behind. Do you need a tablet computer, an iPad, or some custom device ? Is there preferred software just for music docs ? I'd like to download pdf's (or get them off CD) and read them from a music stand, or whatever replaces a music stand these days. Is is better to use an e-reader or print them out ?

I rely on tabs and while if it's pretty simple, I'll just plonk myself in front of the laptop and play off the screen, I'll print them out if they're kinda challenging.

I wish I wasn't so lazy and I had mastered reading the real stuff and could make sense of it

Swing Holder floor stand for IPAD $199.00:

I haven't seen them in use but I know that some church choirs are using IPADS in stands. I guess this way the choir dictator (director) can be sure of what music everyone has.

I like the 2nd one. If I had an IPAD I might spring for it. As it is I print the music I am attempting to destroy.
