Hey all it is 0600 here in the keystone just thought I'd post my thoughts on this sonic pipe 5 watt amp I bought used, for all the players on here. If I knew how to import the link I would but sadly I'm not tech savy at 51. Ok the amp is 5 watt class a handwired 12ax7 preamp and 6v6 tube 6z4 rectifier so no solid state that's cool in my book and 8 inch celestion speaker. Controls are volume and tone noodling around this morning rolling the tone pots volume around on tokai les Paul just seeing what i can get tone adventuring. I'm very pleased in what I hear from this amp, I have not yet tried pedals with it. The tone is clean crisp for 5 watts it has decent headroom. If I may describe think eat peach kind of clean allman brothers but then can get dirty as in breaking up kind like tush ZZ Top , Later be safe all take it easy.

We are in a new golden age of gear these days what with
The rise of boutique hand wired amps and pedals;
The transition to digital freeing up vast amounts of analog gear on the used market;
The internet, paypal, used sites like reverb fueling it all with reduced risk of ripoff;
THe sheer staying power of ROCK N ROLL BABY!!!
Rock on sir!
Picked up playing several months ago after a few decades hiatus and am thrilled to find affordable vintage gear all over the place. A Kustom bass rig that with a bit of cleaning looks and sounds like it did in 72', and still loud enough to stun a badger at 20 yards! (Tuck and Roll, Baby!)
A chromium Morley tank of a pedal, and an incredibly cheap Leslie 18 that needed a bit of TLC to restore it to swirly glory. Found enough motors and rotors online to begin building a custom Leslie cab for bass.
Found great sources for vintage parts too, Mouser Electronics in Texas.
As much as I dislike Guitar Center stores, their used gear department links all their stores online making for a very wide array of affordable gear from every state. Great for feeding my pedal madness.
Topped it off with a new Fender Jazz Aerodyne, possibly the best and most beautiful PJ bass they've ever produced. Picked that up on Ebay for about half the retail price.
Found a cool place for speaker refurbs out of Ohio. Hempopotamus Loudspeakers. Very reasonable recones made from hemp! You can find them on Reverb as well.
New golden age indeed!
