(2,435 posts)I haven't thought about this song in ages. Man, I've got to either get my turntable fixed or buy a new one! I have the double album "Anthology"

(2,435 posts)It's an automatic belt drive unit. I've just been looking at new turntables on line and think I'll get a new manual direct drive. Old mister BIC may take a trip to the Goodwill, maybe somebody will want it! It has a good cartridge, Shure V15 Type 3, but it is also about 40 years old. I just got my Christmas bonus Friday and I've been thinking of buying a new guitar. Maybe I'll get both, I've been good this year!

(444 posts)Everyone competed for your business. Wonderful receivers and electronics. Turntables were very good. There were many good speakers.
All can be picked up today for a good price on ebay and they still sound good. I have a modified Dynaco(new opamps and new capacitors, a van Alstine tube preamp and a belles amp. The one tging I recentlt bought were Andrew Jones spekers. He made inexpensive Panasonics and now he is with Elac. He is one of the best speaker manufacturers today.
I gave my son my B&W speakers.

(14,248 posts)A friend went to visit someone in NYC and came home with three albums I had never heard: the first Quicksilver album; Sailor, which was Steve Millers first (and only psychedelic) album; and Music from Big Pink by The Band.
I have bought albums, CDs and DVDs of all three of these albums over the years. A serious understatement to say that they changed my life, or at least listening to them during my first LSD experiences changed my life.
