biopic to chart life & death of legendary manager of The Who, Kit Lambert.
He was one of the great eccentrics and genius's of the British rock scene. Kit Lambert died in 1981 after discovering The Who and turning them into one of the greatest rock bands in the world. Also worked with Jimi Hendrix.
Independent producer Orian Williams is teaming up with actor Cary Elwes who will direct his first film from a script by ex-Mojo Magazine editor Pat Gilbert based on tapes recorded with Lambert by writer John Lindsay.
Orian Williams produced the BAFTA & Cannes Film award winning film Control about the life of Ian Curtis of Joy Division.
Cary Elwes has just finished producing his first fiim Elvis & Nixon.
Kit Lambert was the son of British classical composer Constant Lambert and the grandson of Australian noted artist George Washington Lambert.
He discovered The Who (then the High Numbers) while looking for band to star in a film and decided to manage them.
Lambert encouraged The Who to explore new concepts and various musical themes with the result- the first rock opera Tommy. His life was a riches to rags story losing everything- a house in London and a Venice Palazzo when he became a Ward Of The Court to avoid drug charges.
Surviving Who members Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey will contribute to the film and release a special album to co-incide with it's release.
