After a cold in mid December, my singing voice refused to come back. Took 10 weeks before I had 50% of my range back. In the last couple weeks, another 40% came back.
So, I can sing again. I have a couple songs in mind, that I doubt any others will do.

We are going to have storms and tornadoes all night

(70,136 posts)Not too worried about the weather. It's only 9 blocks away, and our forecast is clear until about an hour between 8 & 9. The rain chances fall back to under 10%.
Gonna be windy, though.

(70,136 posts)...that switched to rock on both keys & guitar.
The 2 songs I'm considering are classic rock.
I played at the same place back in August. Did a couple hours.
I haven't played regularly for about 15 years. I know I've played over 2,000 times for money.
So, an open mic thing is perfect. Not committing to anything. One or 2 songs, and "see you next time".

(70,136 posts)But, I've performed so many times, I'm not making a thing out of it. If I'm too far down the list. I'll listen for a while & go home.

(70,136 posts)A couple people read poetry, one guy did a stand up thing (pretty derivative), about three other musicians (might have been 3 including me) & a couple people sang to the host guy's accompaniment, and I did 3 songs.
A few people were pretty good singers. The other guys were pretty basic on guitar. No embellishments at all. Same with the host.
There were perhaps a dozen other people who just listened.
I was there only an hour.
I was just glad to be able to sing again & know the notes were there.
