A ramble cannot sleep having coffee and Im thinking on how to make the most of our time. Ten to noon yesterday at high school the music teacher put it out by email last week R.S.V.P. and we had three kids show up. I love it these young kids are so into learning and they themselves are so into guitar.
Come to class take home a glass slide after about a hour they put on the headphones and plugged into the Harley Benton amps and I would sit with one kid at time to work on slide. So the guitar teacher is going to see if the kids want to continue Saturdays for awhile, my schedule is open weekends off.
Yet Im thinking Im going to have to go back to the Delta blues before it hit Memphis and become Electric which gave us example the Allman brothers.

Blind lemon Jefferson
Charley Patton
Robert Johnson
So yea we just may do these great player through electric or the school has several acoustics.
My reasoning is finger picking the one boy wanted to continue using a pick. I said lay down the pick my young Padawan raise your right paw see those five fingers we will use them . After I moved on to another kiddo I looked over and young Jedi had his headphones on and the shit was yep using a pick again made me smile.

Indeed, the playground offers unlimited possibilities for an aspiring young musician.

(11,543 posts)A pick is the only way I play my mando. I mix it up on all my 6 & 12 strings. I always pick my bass.
The comment was for a young padawon who has little experience.

(74 posts)Great story, I have no students.....yet, but retirement is coming and I will pass this gift on to our neighbors. It is my duty to re-share what my elders taught to me so freely.
