Related: About this forumStop the Dreams. The latest original. A sixty-ish feel with a lot of vocal tracks.
The video was created from cuts from an old and very weird public domain pharma industry propaganda film called The Relaxed Wife.
I spend much more time on the song than the video and it shows.
I'm not sure that the song is any good but I'm happy with the mix.

(92,668 posts)I think the quirk of the video helps the song with its quirkiness. I like it. That's a lot of tracks but good mixing!
And welcome to DU!

(69,859 posts)This is my Soundcloud page. There are only 5 covers there.
Much more low tech. Direct to hard drive recording console, 16 tracks.
I'm playing & singing everything, and with the exception of one redone harmony vocal (I jumped in early, the first pass), all the parts are one take.

(126 posts)Great takes on some excellent old tunes. Come together and Sweet Jane seem to have a channel that cuts in and out. You got some chops man.

(69,859 posts)Yeah, that drop out is annoying. At first, I thought it was a bad CD copy in my car.
It's the .WAV file, so it happened in mastering. It's WAY worse on the Beatles tine.
I was too lazy to redo it.
I think of myself as a player, not a recording aficionado. I was reasonably pleased with playing so just left it atune. Did I think of a better idea on the guitars later. Yeah. I wanted first takes, warts & all.
I hear things I'd do differently. I think a little denser echo on the lead vocal of the Petty tune would have been cool.
Different guitars & amps on the 3 distinctly different passes on the JB song would have created more of the jam feel I wanted.
But, I've got a couple solo acoustic guitar things that came from noodling around. Getting ready to record those.
Also, I've been promising several folks here to convert some live band DVD stuff to MP4s & find a sharing site so i can share here.
I actually have a musical agenda!!
